Viewsonic will try to offer the 4K experience to customers at an affordable price with the PX701-4K coded projector announced at CES 2021.
California-based technology company Viewsonic has announced the DLP projector, which offers 4k resolution images at CES 2021. The PX701-4K coded device is a candidate to be among affordable 4K projection models with an overseas price of under one thousand dollars.
The device, which is shaped around the latest DLP XPR chipset developed by Texas Instruments, can deliver 4K images in sizes ranging from 30 inches to 300 inches. The projector with a brightness of 3,200 ANSI lumens and support for HDR / HLG content, has a 12,000: 1 dynamic contrast range, and comes with a lamp life of up to 20,000 hours.
Offering 10 bit color depth, the device has an impressive refresh rate of 240 Hz and screen lag rates of 4.2 milliseconds. However, these values are unfortunately activated at 1080p resolution. Except for certain productions, for new generation games where it is not possible to reach 240 FPS frame-second rate in 4K resolution, this is acceptable in the current price segment.
HDMI 2.0, HDCP 1.4, USB 2.0, RS232 (serial communication) and 3.5-mm headphone output form the input and output ports of the device. The projector also hosts a 10W speaker.
The device, which will be sold abroad for $ 900 in January, offers more advanced features such as 4,000 ANSI lumens, 1.3x zoom, USB-C and LAN connectivity, and its older brother PX748-4K will have a thousand-dollar label.
