We are here with the fifteenth of our weekly series recommendations. This week we will propose a secret agent-themed series called Patriot.
We’ve watched many productions about undercover agents. Generally, such productions focus more on the action side of the event or the politics side. That’s why we usually focus on events, not people. The series that I will propose today focuses on an agent who goes undercover again, but it approaches the job from a different perspective, not the action side.
The series that I will propose today is Patriot. Patriot, created by Steve Conrad, has actors such as Michael Dorman, Kurtwood Smith, Michael Chernus, Kathleen Munroe, Aliette Opheim, Chris Conrad, Terry O’Quinn, Julian Richings and Marcus Toji.
As I said, the series is actually secret agent-themed, but it approaches events from the psychology of the agent, not action or politics. In fact, we all guessed how difficult this kind of life is for people, and in this series, our main character is actually having a very difficult life. However, since the series tells this in a slightly darker humor style, it turns out to be a very enjoyable production to watch.
As if the hard life of the main character was not enough, the events constantly develop in a negative way. A really good acting is needed to convey this situation. It’s an acting that doesn’t overwhelm people, but also makes you feel that things are bad. Michael Dorman showed exactly that kind of acting, personally, I loved watching it. Likewise, the director of the series did a tremendous job and did a good job in fictionalizing the series. It is not an easy thing to tell such a depressive story that is both fun and tense.
In short, I can easily recommend this series called Patriot to anyone. You can find the two-season series right now on Amazon Prime Video.
