We continue with the fourteenth of our weekly game recommendations. This week, we will suggest a game for those looking for an alternative in the souls-like genre.
Along with Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls, a new genre has emerged called souls-like, as you know. We can simply call this genre difficult games where gameplay is at the forefront. Especially in the last few years, we have seen many games of this genre. Every year there is always one high-budget souls-like game that attracts attention, while several independent games attract attention. We also wanted to recommend you the souls-like game Shattered: Tale of the Forgotten King, which was released a few days ago.
The souls-like game Shattered: Tale of the Forgotten King, published and developed by Redlock Studio, was actually in early access for a while, but recently the full version of the game was released.
As I said, the game is souls-like. The game takes place in a slightly gothic-themed universe, as in a classic souls-like game, gameplay is at the forefront. I can say that the game resembles a little FromSoftware games visually. The atmosphere of the game is actually very enjoyable. However, the problem of the game is in the gameplay.
Unfortunately, there seems to be a poor quality in the war part of the game and this poor quality makes it difficult to fight. So normally the gameplay in souls-like games is very high quality and therefore you have difficulties, but here it’s the opposite. Still, of course it is not disgrace, it can be played, it can only be boring from time to time.
