While the mixture of hydroxychloroquine and antibiotic Azithromycin, which is found by France’s globally recognized scientist Professor Didier Raoult against Covid-19 virus, continues to divide the world of politics and health in France, the World Health Organization, explained that due to the side effect of the drug, treatment trials were suspended for a while.
Tedros Adhanom Ghedreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), headquartered in Geneva, said at the online press conference that they suspended their experiments in many countries on the grounds of “patient safety”. WHO director stated that they made such a decision on the latest research results published on Hydroxychloroquine in the medical journal The Lancet.
“Ineffective or even harmful ”
The Lancet Magazine published a research conducted last Friday by Harvard Medical School, which concluded that the use of Hydroxychloroquine in Covid-19 treatment is “ineffective or even harmful”.
In the world-wide and retrospective study, the situation of 96 thousand 32 patients with an average age of 53 was compared. In the study, 85 percent of patients were treated without Hydroxychloroquine, while 15 percent were given this drug. As a result, it was determined that 1 out of 11 patients died in the 85 percent group. However, it was found that 1 out of 6 patients who were given Hydroxychloroquine, and when combined with Azithromycin, one out of every five patients died.
The research points out that the use of hydroxychloroquine causes disorders especially in the heart rhythm. In the most comprehensive monitoring study to date, the condition of patients was analyzed retrospectively and statistically. Dr., one of the main authors of the report. “Hydroxychloroquine and its derivatives do not benefit Covid 19 patients,” said Mandeep Mehra.
Professor Raoult: “This research is completely fantasy”
Prof. evaluating the research. Raoult stated that the research published in The Lancet is “only an observation research without experimental scientific criteria”, “We have 4,000 people here (at Marseille State Hospital). I hope you don’t expect it. This research is a completely delusional kind of fantasy. Delusions that do not know the quality, confuse everything, do not know the level, do not know what dose it is given, “he said.
Professor, one of the important infection experts in the world. Raoult announced in early March that he treated Covid-19 patients in 6 days in Marseille State Hospital by combining them with antibiotics called Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin. Despite the evaluation from the scientific community as “a result not proven by scientific methods”, this treatment was applied to many patients, especially the USA and China. American President Donald Trump announced that he himself had taken Hydroxychloroquine for precautionary purposes.
Hydroxychloroquine experiments were launched in France and under the umbrella of the World Health Organization in many countries of the world. The French government allowed the treatment to be implemented in late March, provided that it was used in hospital and under doctor control.
Two partial experiments, previously conducted in China and the USA, and an experiment in France revealed that hydroxychloroquine “had no effect” on patients. However, the experiments are just like Dr. Just like Raoult’s treatment process, it was decided that he was “incomplete” because he did not complete the steps required for scientific methods, and Hydroxychloroquine treatment continued to be applied.
However, the latest research published by The Lancet prompted the French government. The government, which applied to the National Science Council, asked for an opinion on whether the drug should continue to be administered to patients. The World Health Organization announced that they decided to suspend drug-related experiments for a while by acting before France.
