Windbound: Brave the Storm, game impressions with art similar to Tloz: Breath of the Wild. Discovering the mysteries behind the forbidden islands.
We had the opportunity to play Windbound: Brave the Storm, a title from 5 Lives Studios that indisputably reminds us of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on PC for 6 hours. This experience led us to know what awaits us in the first 4 chapters with a pleasant surprise.
The machine in which we evaluated this previous was:
- CPU: Intel Core i9 10900k32GB
- Ram HyperX RGB DDR4 at 3200 Mhz
- Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
- Bravia OLED 4K A8H
In visual terms, the game ran to the maximum of its capacity, without major setbacks and undoubtedly the art made using the cel shading technique evokes a very particular sense of loneliness. The magnitude of the surroundings really made us feel small before the immensity of the sea. In this test we tried to get out of the borders of the map and the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere was incredible.
In Windbound: Brave the Storm we will play with Kara who after a shipwreck appears in the forbidden islands, our mission is to find a way to survive to find a way to return to our tribe.
Unlike other games of this type, our character is a born survivor who will use all the elements to get ahead, build things and continue advancing in the search for a kind of portals that will unlock a larger door, to move from one map to another. another and in parallel to understand the history of these islands.
This open world installment has hunger as its main element, since Kara can die of starvation, so we will constantly have to look for food in plants and animals, however, our supplies will expire and will have certain properties if we cook them. In the same way, objects such as skin can become leather if we expose it to fire, this will help us to build other things.
Another important element is the boat, first we will start with a raft that will help us move from one island to another and this can evolve into a more evolved boat where we can even have a campfire and a saucepan to create medicine or food.
In this experience that took us to the fourth chapter, he let us see that the fauna will play a fundamental role in the game, since at some points it can be too hostile and can complicate our lives, hence the importance of managing supplies well. to be able to be well armed.
Sounds that make us feel the immensity
The soundtrack plays an important role at all times, from when we attack an animal to when we set sail to move from one place to another. The sounds on the other hand give it a specific touch that does not clash at all.
It is definitely a title that promises, but we hope it can offer something more than a coming and going from one island to another to move forward.
Windbound: Brave the Storm will arrive on August 28 digitally to PlayStation 4 , Xbox One , Nintendo Switch , Google Stadia and PC .
As you discover new creatures, you'll need more effective weapons to defend yourself.
