Windows 10 File Explorer gets a more modern look with new icons.
Microsoft plans to make a revision for File Explorer in Windows 10 with new icons.
The new icons were first seen in the Windows 10 test build. Changing icons include system icons such as Trash, Documents folders and disk drives.
Regarding the change, Windows Insider Manager Amanda Langowski said, “Several changes have been made, such as the orientation of the folder icons and the default file type icons, to provide greater consistency in Microsoft products showing files. Especially high-end user folders such as Desktop, Documents, Downloads and Pictures have a new design that will make them a little easier to distinguish at a glance. ” says.
While these icon changes are small in terms of plans for Windows, they are important as part of the company’s effort to modernize the operating system. Microsoft announced new system icons for Windows 10 earlier this month, and the company had previously updated some of its Windows 10 icons with color versions last year. Also, tweaks were made to make the Start menu smoother.
Microsoft is also planning a comprehensive visual rejuvenation for Windows, codenamed “Sun Valley”. Note that the company is expected to provide more details about its visual plans and the future of Windows in the coming months.
It is stated that icon updates will also come along with some tweaks in the layout of File Explorer. By the way, a compact mode will also be available to users to return to the classic File Explorer mode. It is also clear that the updated view is more touchscreen oriented.
