The Expanscape Aurora 7 “portable” workstation, which takes up a huge space on your desk with 6 openable screens, seems to mark a period. Its performance is also pretty good.
A computer screen is no longer enough for the professional or gaming class. Depending on the situation, the number of screens is tried to be increased with two monitors or an additional laptop. Expanscape has raised the bar in this regard.
What does Expanscape Aurora 7 offer?
Expanscape Aurora 7 is based on a workstation and its main screen measures 17.3 inches. The screen has a resolution of 4K and offers a refresh rate of 60Hz. The performance is quite satisfactory with AMD Ryzen 9 3950x and Intel Core i9 10900k options. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 graphics card also contributes to the graphics power.
Offering DDR4 memory options up to 128GB, the model has two 2.5 M.2 slots and 2 2.5 inch slots for a total of 8TB of storage. The two batteries have a power of 230Wh and offer close to 2 hours of use.
What makes the workstation different is its extra screens. There is another 17.3 inch screen above the main screen. It has two 17.3-inch screens vertically on either side. A 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels is placed on each of these vertical screens. There is also a small screen at the bottom of the keyboard.
There is no clear information about how the laptop turns off or how it looks when it is shut down, but the screens are gathered behind the main screen. Since it is in the prototype stage, it is held by a velcro lock. When closed, it will probably be a few laptop thick. Already its weight is around 12Kg. The company cannot make changes on the design and hardware side. Those who want to order can contact the company for the next final version.
