With its latest test, YouTube aims to provide sync for Premium users during downloads between different devices connected to the same account.

Managing downloads for YouTube Premium users may come in very handy soon. The platform, which allows its subscribers to download videos locally for offline playback, tested a setting that allows synchronization between different devices connected to the same account.

Cross-device synchronization in downloads
A new function has been detected in YouTube’s offline device settings, available for some Android users in both stable and beta versions. The feature wasn’t working, but it was seen that YouTube Premium will allow users to download videos on multiple devices.

As a result of the feature in the background and downloads settings, users saw a popup asking which device should be synchronized, along with an toggle button that says “Allow downloads to this device”.

The feature is currently in testing phase. It is not clear when it will come to a stable structure.
