South Korean technology giant Samsung is preparing to leave the Tizen operating system. According to the leaked information, new smart watches may come with Android (Wear OS).
SamMobile, which provides reliable information about Samsung, released the first information about the next generation Samsung smart watches to be announced this year: According to rumors, the South Korean giant plans to completely redesign the software part of the devices.
The company is preparing devices codenamed SM-R86x and SM-R87x for release. We know that the currently available Galaxy Watch models have a code like SM-R8xx. Therefore, we can say that the new smart watches will be included in the same family.
Tizen is weak on the application side
On the software side, it is stated that Samsung is planning to abandon the Tizen operating system. The reason is shown as underdeveloped application infrastructure for this operating system. Because the Tizen operating system cannot even compete with Wear OS on the application side. These rumors were also raised in 2008.
It is reported that the new smartwatches will come with Wear OS, an Android version specially designed for other wearable devices. The future of these Wear OS-supported Galaxy Watch models with a very different user interface and new features from what we’ve been used to until now is among the leaked information.
