WWE will broadcast this Friday a new episode of Friday Night SmackDown on Fox Sports 1. The sports entertainment company continues to confirm meetings and segments for tomorrow’s show, making announcements through its social networks.
Sheamus and Jeff Hardy will meet this Sunday at WWE Backslash. In advance, WWE has confirmed that both fighters will sign the contract of their duel this Friday on SmackDown. The rivalry between Hardy and Sheamus dates back several weeks, with Sheamus rebuking Hardy after his return after WrestleMania. The two had a first round match at the tournament to crown a new Intercontinental Champion, which Jeff ended up winning.
In the May 29 episode, Hardy was removed from the tournament after starring in a segment in which he was arrested in connection with an accident with Elias. “The Charismatic Enigma” tried to explain what happened in last week’s episode, but was attacked by Sheamus.
On the other hand, Heavy Machinery will return to the action teaming up with Braun Strowman, current Universal Champion. In the opposite corner they will be measured with Dolph Ziggler, The Miz and John Morrison. This will be Tucker’s return to the ring, after several weeks of inactivity (his last fight was on April 10). This match will serve as a prelude to Backlash, with Braun Strowman facing off against his upcoming challengers, Miz and Morrison.
Finally, the tournament for the Intercontinental Championship will come to an end. After a month of competition, Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles will meet to decide the new belt wearer in the final tomorrow.
