MediaTek Dimensity supports 900, 5G and 120 Hz refresh rate.
Dimensity 900 chipset targeting upper mid-range smartphones has been announced by MediaTek. The MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset uses the 6 nm process of TSMC.
Dimensity 900 Features
Dimensity 900 aims to bring some of the high-end features to a more affordable price range. Supporting 5G connectivity, the chipset offers support for any older generation mobile network up to 2G, with sub 6GHz and mmWave. It also provides support for carrier aggregation, DSS, and true dual SIM 5G.
The chipset also offers many technologies you can find in high-end phones such as Wi-Fi 6, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, Full HD + 120 Hz displays and 108 MP cameras. At the same time, the chipset has MediaTek Imagiq 5.0 image signal processor, 4K HDR video recording support, MiraVision screen enhancements and HyperEngine game engine.
On the performance side, Dimensity 900 is an eight-core chipset. Only two of these cores are high performance and these are Cortex-A78 cores up to 2.4 GHz. The other six cores are power efficient Cortex-A55s up to 2 GHz. There is a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU for graphics and there is also a third generation AI processing unit.
MediaTek plans to have Dimensity 900 on phones starting from the second quarter of this year.
Earlier this year, MediaTek announced its Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 chipsets for high-end smartphones.
