Prince Philip, the wife of Queen Elizabeth II of England, died at the age of 99.
Buckingham Palace announces the death of Prince Philip.
The statement said, “Her Majesty The Queen, with great sorrow, announced the death of Her dearest husband, The Duke of Edinburgh, Her Majesty Prince Philip. Her Majesty passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle,” the statement said.
Prince Philip was 99 years old.

Prince Philip became ill on February 16 and was admitted to Edward Hospital. It was stated that after a week of treatment, Philip was asked to stay in the hospital on the recommendation of his doctor. Then, for tests and observation for heart disease, St. Bartholomew Hospital, where he had a heart operation. It was announced that the operation was successful.
The photos of Prince Philip reflected in the press while he was being discharged aroused public concern.
The Duke of Edinburgh spent a total of 28 days in two hospitals, the longest time Prince Philip had ever spent in the hospital.
Prince Philip would turn 100 in June.
