According to the information announced by Twitter Senior Product Manager Esther Crawford; Starting today, anyone using Twitter in English will be able to send money to valid accounts on Twitter for iOS and Android.

For now, a limited number of people using Twitter in English will be able to add Tip Jar-Tip Boxes to their profile and accept tips. This group will include creators, journalists, experts and non-governmental organizations. Soon, more people will be able to add Tip Boxes to their profiles. Twitter is working to expand this service to more languages ​​besides English.

“We now want to make it easier for you to support each other beyond Followers, Retweets and Likes. Today, we’re introducing the Tip Box, a new way for people to send and receive tips, ”Crawford said, explaining the Tip Jar:“ If you see a Tip Box icon next to the Follow button on the profile page, you’ll know that an account’s Tip Box is active. . When you tap the icon, you’ll see a list of payment services or platforms enabled by the account. Whichever payment service or platform you prefer, you will be directed to the chosen application from Twitter where you can show your chosen amount of support. Services you can add today include Bandcamp, Cash App, Patreon, PayPal, and Venmo. Twitter doesn’t make any deductions. Tips can also be posted in Spaces on Android ”.
