The Snapdragon X65 5G modem, which will be launched at the end of the year, breaks records for the first time by reaching 10Gbps connection speeds. Artificial intelligence algorithms are also included for the most efficient connections.

In the period when the 5G race is getting faster, Qualcomm is also increasing gears. The company announced the Snapdragon X65 5G modem that will accompany the new flagship chipsets. Modem connection speed is breaking the record.

Snapdragon X65 5G features
Qualcomm first stepped into the 5G trend with the Snapdragon X50 modem model. Then we saw the Snapdragon X55 and Snapdragon X60 flagships. The Snapdragon X65 will likely accompany the Snapdragon 898 chipset.

Using the Release 16 radio frequency version specified by 3GPP, the Snapdragon X65 modem can thus establish more efficient cellular connections. The QTM545 mmWave module supports the mmWave, which offers high speed in a short distance, and Sub-6GHz standards, which offer low speed at a long distance with the RF module.

With its 10Gbps download speeds, a first in 5G infrastructures, modem artificial intelligence algorithms can understand this with 30 percent accuracy when you hold the phone from the antenna part and increase the signal quality by switching between internal antennas. With 5G PowerSave 2.0, situations such as transition to sleep mode or awakening from sleep are managed, while Smart Transmit 2.0 aims to increase the coverage area.

The Snapdragon X65 5G modem started to be sampled by manufacturer partners Apple is expected to use this modem in the iPhone 14 series. We will also be able to see this modem in the new Snapdragon 898 chipset flagships that will be released at the end of the year.
